                                                                                                       The tug-line is made with one inch black strapping. It adjusts to different lengths. It has  a loop on one end and a slide snap at the other. Loop it onto the ring at the bend of the forward shaft. Snap the other end to the O-ring at the back of the dog’s harness.

Use the tug-line with your shaft dogs on the two-dog hitch if they pull unevenly – one harder than the other. This keeps the two-dog hitch perpendicular to the shaft. Also use it with dogs that are not hitched to two-dog hitch. The dog with the tug-line needs to be reliable at keeping his tug-line tight. You don’t want him slacking off and getting hit by the sulky wheel.

The tugline adjusts between 23″ and 37″ long. It allows you to add an extra dog to your pulling team. Sometimes one dog is hitched to the shaft and a second dog is hitched to the tugline. Sometimes one dog is hitched to the shaft with a dog on either side of him.
